GDPR

We adhere to the principals of the Data Protection Act and GDPR and understand best practice for managing information.

Key legal bases

Contractual necessity

  • The data we process is necessary for the service we provide and contract with our customers.

Legitimate interests

  • Our business has legitimate interests which are not overridden by individuals' rights or interests.

  • We will pause our Data processing if an objection is raised by an individual and delete that information in its digital form on request.

The Information Commission (ICO) has confirmed with us, by telephone April 2018, that as a micro-business we do not need to make any changes due to GDPR as we have legitimate interests in holding data in digital and paper form to run our business, keep in contact with our clients and to adhere to the law of accounting. The ICO stressed that we do not need to seek further permissions to keep in contact with our existing clients and that our small business should not be made vulnerable by reducing our client base due to GDPR. All of the data we hold on our customers is required to run a successful Framing and Art business and this data is used for many years in an active way to plan exhibitions and to assist our clients with purchases and information requests. Paintings have a very long life and our gallery records naturally reflect that.

The information we hold is only used by our business and is used proportionately.

If you would ever like to see the data we keep on you, you may request this and we will send this to you within 30 days. If for any reason you decide to ask us to delete your digital information that we hold we will, of course, do this. Our paper records do have to be kept for legal accounting reasons.

We regularly review our processes.

We will only use your information to contact you with regard to any orders placed and to keep you informed of new items that we think you will want to know about. We never share or sell data.

3. How will Sullys Framing and Art use the information they collect about me?

Sullys Framing and Art will use your personal information for a number of purposes including the following:

  • For providing services to you in the way of sending goods to your address and keeping you informed of the latest products and services.

  • IP addresses are used to identify the location of users, the number of visits from different countries and also to block disruptive use; and

  • To analyse and improve the services offered on Sullys Framing and Art. e.g. to provide you with the most user-friendly navigation experience.

Where Sullys Framing And Art proposes using your personal information for any other uses we will ensure that we notify you first. You will also be given the opportunity to withhold or withdraw your consent for your use other than as listed above.
